Meet the green caterpillar with one of the best disguises you would ever see. It looks and acts like a snake to scare off predators. It does this by expanding certain parts of its body so it looks like a snake.
Hemeroplanes species behave like the reptile in its larvae stage by striking harmlessly at predators so it does not get eaten.
It was found by a University of Pennsylvania photographer while working in the Area de Conservacion Guanacasta, Costa Rica.
