New Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Ordered to be Arrested for Fraud

Sahara Reporters are reporting that, the newly crowned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, is to be arrested by the Nigerian Police on fraud-related charges from his tenure as Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) Governor.

Sources at the Presidency in Abuja have disclosed that a team of policemen at the Emir’s palace in Kano received their order from the Nigerian Police Headquarters to place Sanusi under arrest if he leaves the Kano Governor’s lodge.

It is said that, Sanusi was meant to have been arrested at his private home on Sunday night after his appointment was announced, according to sources at the news agency.

The outsted Apex Bank Governor has been staying at the Kano State Governor’s lodge, receiving visitors and undertaking traditional rites.

It is also being alleged that a few northern leaders have warned President Jonathan to avoid “a reckless action so as to avoid setting fire to the already volatile situation in the city of Kano”

So that explains why he has been receiving guest and performing his duties at the Governors lodge. I have been wondering why. If he feels he has nothing to fear or hide, then let him go to his official residence and face the music for his actions. If he is innocent, it would be proven so. After all he has the money to hire the best lawyers in the country.
