Sudan Woman, Released, Re-arrested and now Charged with a New Crime

What Christians living in Predominately Muslim countries go through it just unbelievable. When a Christian converts to Islam, its considered cool and they are even called up and rewarded, it happened in South Eastern Part of Nigeria just recently. But when a Muslim converts to Christianity, it becomes a life and death issue.

Meriam the Sudanese woman who converted to Christianity and married a Christian in Sudan and was sentenced to death but whose death sentence was overturned by an appeal court, and released on Monday was re-arrested and has now been charged with a new crime.

She has now been accused of falsifying travel documents as she tried to leave Sudan hours after the death penalty was dropped against her. The authorities are saying, since she used to be a Muslim and had a Muslim name when she was born, she should have used that name and not the Christian name she uses after choosing to worship that faith.

It’s not clear if her husband Daniel Wani who is from Manchester in New Hampshire, has also been charged with any offenses.
These news allegations are a huge setback to Meriam’s hope of leaving Sudan and a further sign that the Sudanese government is playing twisted games over her released.

This is so wrong but it’s just some of what Christians living in Muslim Countries go through every day, if her case had not been taken up by concern groups, she would have been killed in silence as so many have and still are. If Muslims expect Christians to be accommodative of their faith as we have been over the years, then it wouldn't be wrong if we expect same from them.

Just saying Islam is a religion of peace isn't enough, show it also to Christians not just Muslims alone.
