Just
because it legal to buy Pot doesn’t mean you should make it an open secret especially
if your boss doesn’t like the idea.
Mike
Boyer, the first man to legally buy recreational marijuana in Spokane,
Washington, says he is out of a job because his boss saw him on TV buying pot
in Washington.
Boyer
– Who camped outside the Green Leaf dispensary for 19 hours in order to be the
first person to legally purchase recreational pot in Spokane – says one of his
employers requested he take a drug test within 24 hours.
30-year
old Mike who works as a security guard “on and off for 12 years” had signed an
agreement several years ago agreeing to the drug ban.
His
employers are however saying Boyer has not been fired and was still employed.
But other employers are also demanding the drug test.
Boyer
doesn’t regret his action, he told Daily News
“We
don’t line up for Black Friday, we line up for ‘Green Tuesday.' People camp out
for Star Wars and donuts — this is more important than that."
It
was so important, Boyer took the day off work to be there.
“It’s
the first day. Who's not gonna run down?” Boyer asked. “People who hadn’t
smoked since the ‘70s and ‘80s were coming down just to be there. It was the
day of days.”
Boyer
bought two grams of the Sour Kush strain for $50. "The price wasn’t
optimal,” he told Vocativ.com. “But I was pretty excited.”
The
freshly underemployed pot smoker has already posted his resume to Craigslist
and is hoping to get a job in the budding marijuana industry.
"I'm
staying positive," he said.
..........
If my recollection of the effect of marijuana is correct, then every employer will certainly seek for a drug test before this guy is employed. So getting a job hasn't become any easier for him..
