Twitter War Between Ghana Presidency And U.S Embassy In Ghana

There seem to be some kind of twitter war going on between Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama Chris and the US Embassy in Ghana.

Recently the president of Ghana, who is a communications expert by profession sent out a tweet from his handle asking Ghanaians to remain clam and to sacrifice a little in these times of tough economic hardship, this was after he had made an earlier call to government officials to accept a salary cut.

@JD Mahama, ''As a people, we have had to make sacrifices. I wish to assure you that the results of these sacrifices would begin to show very soon,'' the tweet read.

Mayor dies after being attacked by a swarm of wasps at her vacation home

In what can only be considered as a freak accident, the mayor of a Quebec town has died after being stung more than 15 times by a swarm of wasps while at her summer cabin on Sunday.

Luci Rouseel, 51 was vacationing at her lakeside home when she stool on the nest and as attacked by more than 15 wasps.

However the town's deputy mayor, Laurent Blais said Rouseel was not allergic to wasp stings and everyone is in shock. Experts who spoke to CTV said that sometimes an allergy is not revealed unless someone is stung within quick succession of each other.

An allergist Dr. Joseph Shuster speaking also to CTV said dying from an insect sting is extremely rare.

The fact that she was stung many times was probably the reason why she passed away.

She leaves behind two children, age 19 and 18 and the citizens of Monteal Suburb.

As Nigerians awaits the release of the movie Half Of A Yellow Sun on friday August 1 after it approval following series of ban by the NFVCB, the movie which has already been released in the UK, USA, Austrialia and New Zealand has so far generated over N280 Million.

The movie which starred British-Nigerian BAFTA award winner and Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, BAFTA award winner Thandie Newton and other A list actors including Genevieve Nnaji, is about the time of Biafran War, a story of love, hate, forgiveness, greed and jealousy.

Homeless Woman Tries To Kill Herself And Her Disabled Child

A Chinese mother tried to drown herself and her disabled child because she was homeless and abandoned with the child. She saw no other way other than to walk into a river to kill herself and her baby. Luck however ran out for her or ran in for her when passers-by saw her walking in her cloths into the water and formed a human chain to pull her and her baby back to shore in the city of Wuhan in Central China's Hubei province.

Her case has now attracted perhaps the help she was going to die for as Wei Chung, 32 has been given an accommodation and the promise that the local hospital will attempt once again to look at her baby daughter's health issues.

The baby was born with Down Syndrome and a congenital heart problem, meaning she was unlikely to survive for long

Dutch Banking Association is taking sets to ensure the identities of the dead are secured and their savings are not looted.

Amid reports of looters raiding the crash site of the downed Malaysia Airlines flight in eastern Ukraine, the Dutch Banking Association announced it is taking steps to prevent misuse of the passengers’ credit and debit cards. Of the 298 people who died in the crash, 193 were Dutch.

There was much celebration as Crystal Gospel Awards 2014 came to town. Muscon Centre, Lagos was the host of the second edition of the Crystal Gospel Awards 2014, tagged ''second year of inspiration'' which was held on Sunday night.

Twenty-nine awards were handed out to some of the best contemporary Gospel artists in Nigerian at the Crystal Gospel Awards 2014.

Couple Caught in Auction Scam - “Dupe Victims N20M''

A couple, Mr. Danladi Wushishi and Mrs. Ojuolape Wushishi have been arrested by the police for allegedly duping victims in a fake auction sales in Lagos. The couple were arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.

PUNCH Metro reports that while Ojuolape was arrested on Wednesday, June 18, her husband Danladi was apprehended on Friday, June 25 at different locations.

A victim of the scam, one Mrs Chinyere Uzorchukwu who was allegedly duped by the couple to the tune of N5m filed a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko and based on that the Special Anti Robbery Squad operatives trailed the couple and eventually arrested them.

The Wushishis had allegedly collected money from their victims under the false pretext that they had a container load of goods meant for customs auction sales at one of the customs terminals in Lagos.

It was further learnt that prior to the incident, the couple normally took their victims to a fake customs’ warehouse in Ikorodu, Lagos, and showed them containers which were sealed. However, after payments had been made, the victims would wait endlessly expecting their goods, which never came.

BREAKING NEWS: Pro-Russian rebel leader gives Malaysians MH17 missing black boxes

After hours of meetings with the Malaysian delegation in the eastern Ukraine city of Donetsk on Monday night, rebel leader Alexander Borodai produced the black boxes, handing them to the Malaysians in a bizarre late-night press conference.

“Today was a quite important day in the history of the Donetsk People's Republic,” Borodai said with the Malaysians standing to his left.

He then pointed the finger at the Ukrainians for downing the doomed jetliner, saying, "The Ukrainians had the technical capabilities and the motives to do it,” before producing the missing black boxes (which are actually orange in color).

Representatives for the Malaysian delegation and the Dutch then signed a document to formalize the handover.

My father was a Navy officer who fought for Nigeria during the civil war and my brother was also a military officer, I also have friends in the military and often now, I see them changing their ''DP'' on their Blackberry from one picture of a dead officer killed in the war against terrorism to another. 

Young Nigerian military officers just out from the Military Academy thrown into the toughest part of Nigerian to defend our country against fellow Nigerians who are been sponsored by other Nigerians to kill Nigerians using Nigeria's money after been elected by Nigerians to serve in Nigeria's law making body and the government, I wept every single time.

Nigeria is losing its best brains to a useless war that the government should handle without political concerns and do what is necessary to end it. Too many innocent lives have been lost and more still to come. God help us.

I kept reassuring myself. She never did."

Asari Dokubo Calls The North ''Barren'' and Niger-Delta Can No Longer Sustain The North

Asari Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta People Volunteer Force, NDPVF Thursday declared that the Niger Delta part of Nigeria could no longer sustain the north, which he called barren.

Dokubo reacting to a recent statistics circulating on the internet showing that a major part of the north has no contribution to the Nation's Federation Account said he would mobilise to shut down Nigeria if the Niger-Delta region is not granted full control of its resources.

In a statement signed by Comrade Rex Emojite Anighor for Dokubo and the NDPVF, Dokubo called Nigeria ''a luciferian contraption of convenience dubiously crafted to criminally sustain the parasitic and predatory expansionist and supremacist Gambari North.''

In the statement he stressed: “may it be known to all our representatives both at the National Conference and the National Assembly who continually compromise the interest of the Niger-Delta region that they would be declared persona non grata in the region and their sins visited on them in their own life time. They would be treated as enemies of the region as the profanity of Esau can no longer be tolerated.”
