Google Celebrates leftist leader Cesar Chavez not Easter, on religious holiday as some Christian call for boycott.

Google today choose to honour Cesar Chevez, a leftist labour with its traditional "Google Doodle" instead of the Easter holiday.

Several times per year, and sometimes per month, internet search behemoth Google shakes things up on its incredibly high-traffic homepage by changing its logo to celebrate a memorable day in history like a famous person's birthday or world-changing event.

It has honoured a lots of world famous personalities like, famed anthropologist Mary Leakey's 100 birthday, birthdays of baseball legend Jackie Rohinson, Dr. Martin Luther King and pioneering ice resurfacer Frank Zamboni to name a few.

This action has however not gone down well with some Christians across the world. The decision to honour Chavez's birthday though taken 2011 also falls on Easter Sunday this year.

Fox News Radio personality Todd Starnes took to his webpage to air his grievance.
'Christians across the nation are outraged after Google decided to honor labor leader Cesar Chevaz's birthday instead of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, 'Starnes wrote.
Alongside his complaints, Starnes posted an excerpt of the declaration from President Obama designation of March 31 as Cesar Chavez Day.
Starnes also posted comments sent in by his readers, many of them urging a Christian boycott of Google
'Goodbye Google, hello Bing,' wrote on Starnes reader, referencing Microsoft's competing search engine.

The truth however is that Google has a pattern that has not changed. Birthdays doesn't change Easter dates changes every year.

Google's Doodle hasn't had an Easter Doodle since 2000. They never had one before and they have not had one since then.

Murray becomes New World No 2, wins Miami final
Serena Williams also won

Andy Murray came from a set down to beat David Ferrer in a Sony Open final that went the distance and leapfrog Roger Federer into the world No 2 spot in the rankings

Though far from his best for long periods, Murray had to dig deep after Ferrer got off to a blistering start by taking the first set 6-2

One point from defeat in the last set, Murray skipped a forehand off the far baseline to stay in the match Sunday. He then dominated the tiebreaker, while Ferrer appeared to cramp and collapsed to the court after one rally.
Murray also won the title in 2009. His path to this year's championship was made easier because Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal skipped the tournament and Novak Djokovic lost in the fourth round.

Women's world No 1 Serena Williams also won her final match against World No 2 Maria Sharapova.

World number one Serena Williams fought back from a set down to beat Maria Sharapova 4-6 6-3 6-0 and win the Sony Open for a record sixth time on Saturday as she continued her dominance over her closest rival.
With the win, Williams, who struggled with her serve in the first two sets, becomes only the fourth woman in the Open era to win the same WTA tournament six times, joining Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert and Steffi Graf.
"I finally have some record," Williams said. "Like it's really cool. I can't seem to catch up with Margaret Court or Steffi or anything. I'm really happy to have something right now, so it's exciting.
"Maria played really the best I have seen her play, and I think she was moving unbelievable and she was hitting winners from everywhere. .... How did I end up winning when I actually wasn't on top of my game?"
Second-ranked Sharapova has now lost to Williams in their last 11 meetings and has not beaten the American since her two victories in 2004.
To add to the pain, the match was Sharapova's fifth Miami final and her fifth defeat.

Manchester United were lucky admits Ferguson over FA cup replay with Chelsea.

Manchester Coach Sir Alex Ferguson has conceded that Chelsea deserved to have won the first match of their FA cup quarter-final at Old Trafford because according to him, his side were emotionally exhausted from the heartbreak of their Champions League exit.

Untied has won this season in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge but a less experience side lost in extra time in the Capital One cup three days later.

Match-saver: David De Gea brilliantly saves Juan Mata's shot with his legs in the final minutes

He has promised to pick a side that will not throw away a lead in similar fashion.

Rafa's possible replacements: Moyes and Mourinho
Chelsea owner is looking.

  Going! going !!.....

Chelsea owner is said to meeting key personnel to discuss options as Chelsea finalize their shortlist for the post of a permanent coach for the club.

Recent results and the back lash from the fans of the club has not place interim manager, Rafa Benitez on good light for the job.

Two coaches are been considered with one seen as an outside bet, they are: Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho and David Moyes and Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini respectively. And ofcouse Abramovich expected to have the final say on who is selected.

Roman Abramovich, Chelsea owner

Jose Mourinho

David Moyes

David Moyes who has coached Everton for 11 years is considered a serious contender and is yet to sign a new contract extension at Goodison, saying he will do so at the end of the season.

Mourinho's comeback as a boss would be the delight of Chelsea's fans and even some of the present players who played under him in his first spell as a coach in Chelsea.

His relationship with owner Abramovich is said to be good though there are fears that they may not be able to work together given the control Mourinho expects to exert over the first team.

Mourinho would be a better choice but can the marriage work for a second time? that's the question on everybody's lips. I hope they can make it work, Chelsea needs Mourinho as much as he needs Chelsea.

Turin Shroud mystery 'solved

Infrared test have confirmed that the shroud is not a fake

The blood of Jesus is indeed precious

The beauty about the shroud is that, its speaks of the uniqueness of the BLOOD OF JESUS.
It tells us that, indeed that blood is not ordinary like our blood but precious. The shroud is presumed to be the cloth that Jesus Christ was wrapped in and buried after he died. The Vatican is in possession of it.

For centuries scientists have argued about the authenticity of the Shroud - which is kept in a secure vault in Turin Cathedral - and it has become one of the most iconic images of the Roman Catholic faith.
The 14ft-long linen cloth bears the faint image of the front and back of a tall, long-haired, bearded man and appears to be stained by blood from wounds in his feet, wrists and sides that match those suffered by Christ at his Crucifixion.

WHAT IS THE TURIN SHROUD?

The linen cloth, believed by some to have wrapped the body of Jesus Christ, has captivated the imagination of historians, church chiefs, sceptics and Catholics for more than 500 years.
There are no definite historical records concerning the shroud prior to the 14th century. Although there are numerous reports of Jesus' burial shroud, or an image of his head, of unknown origin, being venerated in various locations before the 14th century.
But there is no historical evidence that these refer to the shroud currently at Turin Cathedral. A burial cloth, which some historians maintain was the Shroud, was owned by the Byzantine emperors but disappeared during the Sack of Constantinople in 1204.
Historical records seem to indicate that a shroud bearing an image of a crucified man existed in the small town of Lirey around the years 1353 to 1357. It was in the possession of a French Knight, Geoffroi de Charny, who died at the Battle of Poitiers in 1356.
However the correspondence of this shroud with the shroud in Turin, and its very origin has been debated by scholars and lay authors, with claims of forgery attributed to artists born a century apart. Some contend that the Lirey shroud was the work of a confessed forger and murderer.
The history of the shroud from the 15th century is well recorded. In 1532, the shroud suffered damage from a fire in a chapel of Chambéry, capital of the Savoy region, where it was stored.
A drop of molten silver from the reliquary produced a symmetrically placed mark through the layers of the folded cloth. Poor Clare Nuns attempted to repair this damage with patches.
In 1578 Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy ordered the cloth to be brought from Chambéry to Turin and it has remained at Turin ever since.
The shroud has had many notorious admirers. It even obsessed Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, who wanted to steal it so he could use it in a black magic ceremony.
In May 2010, five years after he became Pope, Benedict authorised a public viewing of the Shroud - the first since 2000 and also 15 years ahead of its next scheduled public display.

Culled from Mailonline.

I am not a Catholic but have great respect for the Turin Shroud and the Catholic faith. Pope John Paul was someone I admired a lot and so is Pope Benedict. He is still alive, so I can't say was. Now we have two popes alive. I hope the current Pope will live up to his responsibility. They always often do anyway. The Catholics have their issues but when it comes to selecting their popes, they seem to get it right. How, I don't know.
