These
are indeed some of the worse days for the people of Borno State. It isn’t enough
that the residents of the State have been constantly bombarded by members of
the devilish sect Boko Haram, but now they have to contend with a possibility
of an epidemic.
Due
to high numbers of corpses littering some villages which were attacked last
week by the sect, fears have been raised by leaders of the affected communities
about the possible epidemic because the people have been unable to bury the
corpses because of the presence of the insurgents in the villages.
So
far in some Local Government Areas, no less than 109 people have so far been
buried since the attacks started.
Corpses
still littered some villages because the people still don’t have access to
these villages as the insurgents were still hanging around according to one of
the villagers.
This
is just unfortunate. The military should ensure the dead are buried even if
they can’t be given a befitting one.
