Punch
is reporting that the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency on Sunday grounded
the chartered aircraft of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State after he paid
a condolence visit to Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in Kano State.
TheCable
an online new media according to Punch News reported that the state
Commissioner for Home Affairs, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, told sympathisers who
came to condole with Kwankwaso over the death of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji
Bayero at the Government House, Kano, that the aircraft was grounded by
officials of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency on “orders from above.”
My
Take:
So
every meeting now has become a political gathering. What is achieved by telling
people who came to condole with the Governor over the death of someone as
important as the Emir that a particular agency grounded an aircraft from “orders
from above”? Is an order from above only from the presidency? When the man at
ChannelsNews made the phrase “from oga at the top” was he referring to the
presidency?
It’s
so sad that every good thing is assumed to come from the opposition but when it’s
bad, point the finger to the Presidency. What a shame. The forum in which the
said allegations of who grounded the plane was made was certainly not the right one. The opposition should learn to do the right thing at the right place and the
right time.
By
the way, all “order from above” doesn’t come from the Presidency sir.
