Fighting as Sanusi is given staff of office, three feared dead

Supporters of the first son of the late Emir of Kano and those of the expelled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi clashed in the city of Kano as the new Emir received his staff of office on Monday.

Three people were also feared dead and scores of others injured during the clash.

The clashes were later brought under control by security operatives before Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso presented Sanusi with the letter of appointment and staff of office as the new Emir of Kano.

So Sanusi begins his reign as the new Emir of Kano with clashes and possibly death of the same people he is supposed to bring comfort to, let’s now wait and see how he’ll end it. Hoping it won’t be worse than this.
