China mocks default limit 'monkey business' as it depicts the U.S. as a beggar

Chinese state media have been having their fun with America's protracted attempts to stave off a crippling default - even though it will likely come back to haunt them.
Cartoons depicting the U.S. as a beggar and on a life-support machine have been cropping up in publications this week as the Republicans and Democrats scrambled to agree an extension to the debt ceiling before tomorrow's deadline.

A Chinese minister has also accused the 'gentlemen' on Capitol Hill of showing little concern that their 'monkey business' had been damaging America's reputation around the world.

And the U.S shut down is over and all that was to come with it...Debt ceiling inclusive

Just a day before the federal government reaches its borrowing limit, Senate leaders announced on Wednesday that they have struck a deal to reopen the government and avert a potentially cataclysmic default on U.S. debt payments.
The final package, unveiled by Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on the Senate floor, would fund the government through Jan. 15 and raise the debt ceiling through Feb. 7.

The bill also would strengthen income verification requirements for those who sign up for insurance under Obamacare, and it would provide time for both parties to appoint lawmakers to a conference committee to reconcile a broad budget resolution. The panel would be led by Budget Committee heads Republican Rep
Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and Democratic Sen. Patty Murray of Washington, and it would be required to announce the result of its negotiations by Dec. 13.

Cleveland police suspend 63 officers who fired 137 shots killing unarmed man (Was it because they were black?)

More than 60 Cleveland police officers involved in an unauthorized car chase in which 137 shots were fired, killing two unarmed people, have been suspended.

A panicked driver and passenger fleeing police were shot dead in November following a 23-minute pursuit in which more than 60 cruisers sped through residential neighborhoods.
While only two police cars are allowed to give chase, dozens of cruisers joined the pursuit because they believed the two victims were armed.

Toddler's amazing lucky escape from death

A young child was plucked from the wreckage of a violent crash after a car careered into his pushchair, squashing him against a wall.
The toddler's mother looked on in horror as two cars collided in Gravesend, ricocheting one of the vehicles towards her tiny son as she walked along the pavement.

Eyewitnesses rushed over to the scene of the smash, fearing the worst for the child.
In photographs taken moments after the accident, the boy's father is seen cradling him while his mother is shown looking shocked at the destroyed buggy, her hand over her mouth.

Funny Signs From Around The World

There are signs and there are signs. These are the craziest ones I have seen.

Ghana all but seal World cup slot.

Ghana took a huge step towards reaching their third straight World Cup finals by thrashing Egypt 6-1 in the first leg of their 2014 play-off.
Asamoah Gyan thumped in the opener and it was 2-0 after Michael Essien's run led to an own-goal from Wael Gomaa.

Is wearing make-up a 'betrayal' or more like wearing a 'mask'?

A set of before and after photos that show the dramatic difference between a woman with and without make-up have sparked an internet debate about cosmetics.

Posted by make-up artist Melissa Murphy, the images, simply captioned: 'Make-up. That's it,' show a bare-faced woman with acne scars and shiny skin, and then her transformation after putting on make-up, with thicker eyebrows, flawless looking skin and a seemingly thinner face.

Meet Toyota's i-ROAD (motorbike)

A narrow three-wheeled electric vehicle could offer commuters the freedom to squeeze through traffic jams as if were driving a motorbike, while offering the stability and safety of being inside a car.
Toyota's i-ROAD personal mobility vehicle is designed for negotiating busy city streets and is no wider than a standard motorbike, but can be driven like a car thanks to intelligent front wheels that automatically adjust to suit the driver's actions.
The trike uses 'Active Lean' technology that allows its wheels to move up and down to calculate the best position for going round tight corners, or weaving in and out of traffic.
