One of the kidnappers of the Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area jump to his death

One of the kidnappers of the Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Kehinde Bamigbetan, jumped to his death at a hotel along Old Ojo road, Agboju, Lagos.



Bamigbetan freedom has since been confirmed as has been pictured with his family. He was set free by his abductors on Saturday night, five days after he was kidnapped, it was learnt that police pressure could be part of the reasons he was released.

He returned to his house at about 10:45pm, an hour after he was released by his abductors on Saturday.

The police were said to be on the trail of one the suspects and were actually about to arrest him, by name, 'Onye Army' when he (Army) killed himself. He was said to have jumped from the balcony of his room on the second floor of an hotel building where he had been tracked to by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja.

Another suspect arrested by SARS following Bamigbetan's kidnap gave the police the information on Army and how to track him.

It was also learnt that the family paid N15 million for Bamigbetan release but after the money was paid, the kidnappers demanded for another N10 million. But suddenly Bamigbetan was released with no additional payment made.

The Police ofcousre denied if any ransom was paid, saying they were not aware if any ransom was paid.
