Harmless,
but Destructive.
Many, if not all of us have suffered, are suffering or will suffer this issue in the course of life. It's something that happens to us unconsciously over time: analysing and comparing what we are doing or where we are with our friends. It is insecurity!
Insecurity is harmless but can destroy a bright future if not tamed. One of my favourite preachers recently said, "The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we're comparing our 'BEHIND THE SCENES' to everybody else's HIGHLIGHT REEL...."
Before you condemn yourself or jump the wagon, always realise that what you see in others is their stage performance, their highlight reel. You need to see what goes on behind the curtain or stage to really understand that we all have our limitations, struggles in the midst of their best moments. Don't be fooled, even your pastor has his "behind the scenes!" Don't tell him I said this; it's our little secret.
Insecurity, if not tamed can lead to low self esteem, hatred, jealousy, depression, bitterness and ultimately failure and no will to live again. Stop insecurity before it stops you.
Have a great day.
