Guess who usually win the argument about who sleeps on which side of the bed. More than one in ten couples argue over who sleeps on which side of the bed....yes the woman wins.

Who should be nearer the door in case of intruders or children wandering in, is the most common issue, a survey shows.

Researchers for Premier Inn questioned 2,000 adults and found that 80 per cent have slept on the same side since their relationship started. However, 22 per cent said, they slept on a different side with their ex-partner.

And not surpricing, around one in 20 men are not happy with the side they sleep on. Am not always either, so they are not alone.

From the research it was also revealed that, 'Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to their sleeping styles but which side of the bed people sleep on seems to be fundamental to getting a good night sleep.

So, if you don't sleep well, now you may know why.

'If you are used to one particular side of the bed it can feel strange to sleep on the other side when staying somewhere unfamiliar'

Other factors respondents named as to which side of the bed they wanted were road noise, babies crying and more floor space on a certain side.
