Guardiola is heading to the Bridge

Pep Guardiola would love to be Chelsea's next manager.

The former Barcelona boss has told close friends that he plans to return to the game next summer and that he sees his future at Stamford Bridge.

Guardiola, 41, is presently in New York on a sabbatical with his family after spending four seasons at the Nou Camp where he won three La Liga titles and two European Cups.

He won 14 trophies in all and had a winning percentage of 72.47%. Wow

After annoucing he was taking a year off, he was sounded out by Chelsea about taking over but he rejected the club's approaches.

With Chelsea been overtaken at the top of the Barclays Premier League by Manchester United on Saturday, and struggling in the defence of their European title, they play Shakhtar Donetsk, who beat them a fornight ago in the Ukrain, at home on Wednesday, it would not be a surprise if Guardiola is called upon to replace Roberto Di Matteo.

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich as been a long time fan of Guardiola and impressed with the work he did at Barcelona.

Is Matteo building the New Chelsea to hand over to Guardiola, we wait and see, but its certainly seems so.
