A
girl who revealed in a college essay that her stepfather raped her while she was
8-years old has finally had justice. The woman detailed what happened for the first time two years ago
when she described what made her who she is in a college application essay.
Her
stepfather, 63-years old denied the charges until the end and asked the judge
for clemency.
He
was sentenced to 18-years in prison.
'I
felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders,' the woman told the jury
after testifying
Telling
her painful story to a jury finally put the ordeal to rest, she wrote in a
statement read out loud during the man's sentencing.
'Getting
closure and justice on this horrible situation is the best thing I could have
gotten from this experience,' the woman, now 18, wrote. After testifying, 'I
felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders', she added.
……….
