Nadal and Serena reigns in Madrid


Rafael Nadal beats Stanislas Wawrinka to win the Madrid open. He beat the Switzerland by 6-2 6-4.

The Spaniard went through the match without dropping serve, winning the tournament for the third time


Nadal was in impressive form on his favourite surface, winning his fifth title of the year since returning from a left knee injury.


Women's World Number one, Serena Williams beats Maria Sharapova also to win the Madrid Open final.

In the process, Serena has now won 50 career singles title. Had Sharapova won, she would have overtaken the American at the top of the woman rankings.
