STRANGE BUT TRUE. YOU COULD BE PREGNANT AND DON'T KNOW IT

Woman visits doctor with back ache issue but delivers a baby.

When Kayleigh Renwich visited the doctors, all she had in mind was for the agonishing back ache to stop.

Infact, she thought she had developed a kidney infection. But what happened six hours later, blow her mind. She was infact pregnant and not only that, five weeks overdue. Crazy.

If this was her first pregancy, one would have said 'ok, i get it, she doesn't have any experience but Kayleigh is a 24-year old nursery nurse, from Stanley, County Durham and a mother of a beautiful girl Grace.

Ms Renwich said, she didn't realised she was pregnant because she continued to see her periods throughout her pregancy and bizarrely had actually lost weight - dropping from a size 16 to a size 12 - 14.

She said: 'You read about women not realisisng they were pregnant and think 'how did you not know?'. I had no pram, no cot nothing. Well now she knows. Science doesn't have all the answers, God does.

She said, she felt pains in her back and when she visited the park with her partner and their two year-old daughter Grace in May this year. At first, she thought her back ache was caused by a kidney infection and visited an out-of-hours medical centre for medication.

But as she awaited the results of a routine urine test, a doctor asker her 'how far into your pregnancy are you?'

She said she wasn't pregnant, but was sent to the University Hospital of North Durham for a scan. Just after 6pm i was seeing a doctor and by 7.30pm i was at the maternity ward having a scan.

'If they'd said i was four months pregnant i could have got my head around that but they said 'it's good news, there's a baby there and you're 8cm dilated.' Whatever that means.

'I couldn't believe it. My body went into shock and i started throwing up. I had periods throughout the pregnancy and in February was sick a couple of times SO DID A PREGNANCY TEST AND it came back negative. There were just no further symptons.

Lucy was born weighing 7lb 7ozs with very dry, cracked skin.

Midwives told Kayleigh when they'd delivered her placenta it has stopped working.

Kayleigh said: 'They didn't know what Lucy had been surviving on and thought she was up to five weeks overdue. Now thats a miracle.

According to the midwives, "Lucy was back-to-back and they think tucked behind my pelvis which is why i was getting the back ache". My God.

Six months on, Luch has been diagnosed with severe Brachycephaly and Plagiocephaly, commonly known as Flat Head Syndrome (FHS), causing her head to misshapen.

While a baby's sleeping position is the main cause of mild FHS other causes include factors in the womb such as a lack of amniotic fluid and the position of the baby.

Lucy is soon to have a cranial helmet which will re-shape her head.

So you see, it is possible.
