A BRITISH boy of 18 has scooped £22million on the EuroMillions lottery, it was reported last night.
It
is believed to be the UK’s biggest win by a teen.
Friends
of the lucky lad told how he has hardly spent any on himself — but
has given huge sums away since he scooped the jackpot.
One
pal said: “He doesn’t need the money, he doesn’t really spend
any. He’s a good lad. He’s given a lot to charity.”
His
one splurge was jetting off to a £10,000-a-night hotel room while he
considered what to do with the money.
But
pals said there was no chance the level-headed teen would fritter his
fortune away like Lotto lout Mike Carroll, who won £9.7million aged
19 in 2002 and blew the lot.
The
latest teen winner is the son of a businessman, according to reports,
but has chosen to stay anonymous.
Lotto
organisers Camelot refused to confirm any details of the winner
because he declined publicity.
It
is believed he landed the massive windfall last year during a streak
of five Brit winners in a row, including 22-year-old Nottingham
couple Matt and Cassey Topham.
The
lad tops the rich list of previous teen winners including waitress
Ianthe Fullagar, who scooped £7million aged 18 in 2008.
Britain’s
youngest winner Callie Rogers was 16 and in foster care when she
bagged £1.9million in 2003. She blew most of it on drink, drugs and
a boob job.
Carroll
frittered his fortune away on drugs and prostitutes. Eight years
after hitting the jackpot he was asking to return to his job as a
dustman.
But
sensible Tracey Makin, who won £1million aged 16, invested the cash
and now has an office job and modest car.
Nice
lad. Remain humble son.
