Chelsea steals Willian from Tottenham - Crazy but true

This is the story as I know it.

Willian, 25 an Anzhi Makhachkala forward had flown to London to sign specifically for Tottenham after Tottenham Chairman, Daniel Levy had negotiated the deal for him to replace Gareth Bale. But as he set foot in London, news reached him and his manager that Chelsea was also interested in him and instead of going to White Hart Lane, he made a U-turn.

The Brazilian and Anzhi Makhachkala forward then abandoned his plans to join Spurs and hot-footed it across London to start negotiations with the Blues.

It is being reported that, Chelsea has almost completed his £32million transfer and that they were offering him a slightly better financial package and Champions League football.

People are speculating that the late deal was struck between friendly Russian Oligarchs – Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and his Anzhi counterpart Suleiman Kerimov. Willian had little say in the whole matter.

Willian is now set to meet his new Chelsea team-mates at training on Saturday afternoon after Jose Mourinho sensationally snatched the Brazilian from bitter rivals Tottenham, who thought they had their man.

Great move Mourinho. There is also the rumour that Chelsea did this to spite Tottenham as a form of revenge for their Chairman’s hardball stance when Chelsea tired to sign Luke Modric two years ago – or simple to damage Tottenham’s efforts to close the gap on those above them in the Barclays Premier League.

Chelsea has however denied such mischief’s fiercely.
