The
Minister of State for Health, Dr. Mohammed Pate, has resigned.
Pate’s
resignation was announced on Wednesday shortly before the Federal
Executive Council meeting by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
His resignation letter, dated July 22, 2013, was addressed to Jonathan.
Pate said he was resigning to take up other challenges.
He will be going to take up an appointment as a professor in Duke University’s Global Health Institute, United States of America.
He is to also serve as a Senior Adviser to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Foundation is based in Washington DC, United States of America.
