Meet Shekinah Ejeh, another victim of the twin bomb explosion in Jos

Shekinah Ejeh was a final year student of the College of Education, Akwanga, Nasarawa State where she was studying Computer Science|Economic until her death in the Jos explosion of May 20th.

Shekinah had just finished her teaching practice exercise and preparing to resume her last semester in the college before she was killed.

The circumstance leading to her death are somewhat unfortunate. Shekinah had gone to the Terminus Market on the fateful day to help some of her school friends get some fanciful second-hand caps which they had seen her wear in school. The caps were far cheaper in Jos than in Nasarawa State. She already had all she herself needed for resumption in the next semester so there was no need other than to assist her friends to be at that location on that unfaith day.

According to Blessing Ejeh, elder sister to the deceased, Shekinah left home before 2pm on that fateful day for the Terminus while she was preparing to go to church for Bible Study when her younger brother called that a bomb has gone off at the Terminus Market.

On hearing the news, her mum began to panic and although Shekinah left home with 3 phones, none of her lines were going through as attempt were frantically made to contact her. Her dad who was supposed to lead the church service set out to the scene of the blast to look for his daughter while she and her mum reluctantly went to school.

According to Blessing, they only got to confirm the worst had happened when a family friend came to see them in the church, immediately they knew something was very wrong and started to cry even before the news was released to them. The news was in fact finally told to them at their home. At this point cry had turned into wailing, as they were all inconsolable.

Her mangled body was later discovered at the mortuary, her burns were however minimal. She has since been buried in their village in Kogi State and had just returned.

Shekinah Ejeh was just 19 years and still growing. She had lofty dreams and all of which will never come to pass again. She was the Children Leader of her local church and was supposed to coordinate a children’s program in her church from Thursday to Sunday and would have returned back to school on Monday (Yesterday)

Today Shekinah Ejeh is no more, all thanks to Boko Haram or would I say the politics of greed and power. When will all these killings stop, how many of our youths and future generations give their blood before our politicians gather the will to do all is right.

Or, is it until they themselves begin to lose members of their own family? We wait to see.
I will do my best to put a face to the numbers of death every week if I can so that Nigerians can truly see the wickedness and evil this sect has done to the citizens of our great nation.

GodSaveNigeria.
