In a bid to woo Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers
State back to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, the Federal Government has
approved the release of River State government-owned aircraft grounded last
year over alleged illegal entry into the country.
The government also gave its approval to the River
State government to bring in two armoured helicopters procured by the
administration in Port Harcourt to enhance security. He has also be given the benefit of
influencing the emergence of his successor in office if he should take the
bait.
Thought it is expected for him to remain in the All
Progressive Congress, APC, but should support the President’s re-election bid
in which case, the Presidency would push to ensure the emergence of his chosen
successor.
