Reporters are reporting that President Goodluck Jonathan today assured
Nigerians that a different government and leadership would be installed in
Nigeria come 2015.
He
was said to have made the surprised statement at a “Democracy Day” church service
held Sunday in Abuja.
Earlier
on the head of the Nigeria Pilgrims Commission, Reverend John Kennedy Opara had
told those gathering that this year’s Democracy Day would be the last to be
celebrated by Mr. Jonathan.
The
President further collaborated this, assuring Nigerians that the Democracy Day
event was the last for his current administration.
What
is unclear however is, if the president has decided not to seek for a second
term in the 2015 general elections or he will be ready to do things that would
shock a lot of Nigerians after he is re-elected. The president has been under a
lot of pressure with regards to the Boko Haram insurgencies in the country.
