Tourists’ horror as bus is flipped over in raging torrent two died and 25 hurt

THIS is the terrifying moment a bus carrying 40 passengers is flipped over in a raging torrent.
Fast-flowing floodwater sent the vehicle rolling off a road and into a river in Samoa.
Several tourists were caught up in the disaster, which left two young girls dead and 25 people hurt.
Australian backpacker Ruth O'Leary, 21, said: "As it was rolling, I actually thought my neck had broken and I had broken all my bones, because our bodies were being smashed around so much.

"I was seeing flashes of different colours and just thinking, oh my god, this is the end, I can't get out of here."

Ruth told how the bus filled with water in seconds and everyone inside was trapped — until the roof was ripped off, which probably saved dozens from drowning.
She said: "I didn't know where the top of the water was and then I saw this light... so I swam up, and all I could see was babies and mothers and old people in the water — and everyone was screaming."

The crash happened at a river crossing made hazardous by raging floodwaters in Lano, Savai'i island.
Witnesses claimed the bus sped past a line of cars waiting at the crossing before driving into the water.
Australians and New Zealanders in another vehicle raced to help the victims.
Basketball coach Dean Vickerman, who waded in to rescue several people, said: "There was torrential rain and it just got to a point where it was ferocious.
"We'd made a decision not to go, but the bus behind us just went for it and we all put our heads out the window to see what would happen.

"It got about halfway across and then got washed into the ocean — flipped over, roof came off. My two brothers-in-law — we just ran to help and jumped in the water.
"We were just grabbing people. At first, we were just fighting against the current, but we couldn't — we were getting pushed out ourselves.
"For me, the scariest part was, if that bus had made it, would our group have been tempted to go? That's the kind of thing that kept going through my mind."

Two girls, aged five and 12, died and 25 people were hurt in the crash with injuries including broken bones.
Police are investigating whether the driver had been drinking, according to reports

This is one time when patience actually pays but when someone is used to taking silly risks and getting away with it, he begins to think he is superman. What he doesn't know is, life is just waiting to make you look stupid, sadly sometimes, it could be at the expense of a life.

Don't take silly risk, when you get used to it, that's when the danger really starts.
