The
internal wrangling in the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) which came to
a height since the assumption of office by the Ibinabo Fiberesima-led
national executive has taken its toll on the Kaduna state chapter:
The state chairman, Mr. Gabriel Okotie has been removed.
Okotie’s
sack was communicated via a text message after an emergency meeting
of the State Executive Council (SEC) in Kaduna on Friday night.
Though
reasons were not advanced for his impeachment, it was however
gathered from an insider that Okotie was impeached for abdicating his
duties as chairman.
He
was also accused of anti-chapter activities, non-challant attitude
toward the executive members as well as lack of accountability.
The
text message reads that, “This is to inform all members of AGN that
Mr. Gabriel Okotie, the chairman of Kaduna State Chapter has been
impeached with effect from 19/07/2013.
The
message warned that anyone who transacts any business with him on
behalf of AGN does so at his or her own risk as he has no mandate
anymore to act on behalf of artistes in the state.
It
disclosed that pending when election is conducted to install a
successor, the Director of Guild’s Services in the chapter, Uche
Ijegalu would act as chairman.
By text, that's cool. Using technology. Hehe
