Nigerian Senate and the official Marriage age limit.

The level of decadence and corruption in the Nigeria politics still baffles me. When a certain respected gentle said, all that the Nigeria politicians thinks about was Woman and might I add, young female university undergraduates, many of these so called respectable politicians didn't like it but everyday we see evidence to this truth.

Just recently, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigerian started a constitutional review. When it came to the age a girl should be marriage out, they agreed 18 years as the official married age. But after one of them, Senator Sani Yerima, former Governor of Zamfara state who had gone out of the country to marry a child age-13 opposed the new age limit citing it as being Anti-Islam, the age limit was subsequently review and guess to what?.
Sorry you are wrong.
Zero age limit. Yes, you heard right. Zero age limit.
The new constitution therefore now reads, 'a woman is deemed to be “full of age” once she is married irrespective of the age she did so.'

Oh! My! God! This as I always say can only happen in Nigeria. Where the only thing in the minds of our politicians his themselves.

For the sake of not wanting to reprimand the wrong actions of one of their own, they have thrown all Nigerian girl children into the trap of early marriages thereby compounding the problem of girls not going to school.

How can she, when her father by law can now give her away at age-9 to a man willing to give him money.

Its just a shame how we came to find ourselves being ruled by sure deprived and perverted minds in the name of democracy.

We are still trying to come to terms, I didn't say, trying to resolve, because PHCN has no intention of finding a solution to the issue, where we were audaciously told by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission that, we are going to be paying a higher Fixed charge than the already high 750-800 Naira per month for lesser and lesser electricity supply until 2016.
As always PHCN blamed the issue on the distribution companies, but instead of looking for a solution, as with most things with the Nigerian Government like oil bunkering, they decided to pass the Naira equivalent burden for their ineffectiveness on the people. If the Federal Government can do with, why not we. Ministries are taking cue.

Now we are having
to deal witthe Senate authorizing we marry away our sisters to sex driven men at whatever age their twisted minds finds them desirable.

Someone has said, these men are partly the reasons for the decadence in our educational system, I am now incline to believing them.
Why would young girls pay attention to their education, when these sugar daddy's can always walk into their schools through their agents, pick them up and return them the next week with loads of tax payers cash in the girl's bag. The same money these same girls used to pay off their lecturers for free marks. Or they think we don't know?

It's a vicious circle our corrupt politicians have ensured will not end.

People are not dumb. The world just plays stupid to fit in... Chris Brown

Once again, they lived up to their billings; persons of very low moral standards and integrity. Is this the new definition of the Nigerian politician? Shame.

Let redefine politics and show them how it should be done; positive change for all and not just for a few. There is a petition that is currently being signed, if you stand for what is right and believe that this new 'zero age marriage limit for our sisters and daughters is wrong, please join us and lets send a warning signal to the Nigerian politicians and the Senate. I have just signed, you too should. Here is the link. Thank you. Sign HERE.
