Stephen
Keshi met with President Goodluck Jonathan and told the president he would only
remain as Nigerian Coach if the NFF increases his salary to N10M from the
initial N5M a month he was been paid.
Keshi’s
contract with the Nigerian Football Federation ended when the Super Eagles were
defeated 2-0 by French.
“He
also wanted what he called a free hand as regards his team selection and
preparations, saying he no longer wishes to deal with the technical committee. He
also wanted his former assistant Sylvanus Okpalla back to his backroom staff.
And
according to Africanfootball.com, Keshi reportedly said he wanted his new
salary to be paid upfront to avoid the delays he suffered in the previous deal.
……….
Just before you say
it’s too much, be aware that what Keshi is asking for is similar or less to
what the NFF had been paying foreign coaches of the National team
