City to face Real Madrid without defender Marcelo

Manchester City has been handed a Champions League boost in their match against Real Madrid, as Real defender Marcelo is ruled out of the tie.
The in-form full back will be out for three months with a fractured matatarsal.
The 24-year old is to undergo surgery in Amsterdam after damaging his foot on international duty with Brazil
He said, I hope this will be the first and the last time i pick up a serious injury. I would not wish this on anyone.
Real's Fabio Coentrao, Alvaro Arbeloa, Sami Khedira and Gonzalo Higuain also picked up injuries while on international duties.

This is why I don't like international duties. Who will pay for the injuries now interms of the club losing the services of their best players?
