Marion Bartoli beat Sabine Lisicki to win her first major, Wimbledon title.

French woman Marion Bartoli won her first tennis Grand slam title when she defected Sabine Lisicki 6-1, 6-4 to lift her first Wimbledon trophy. Bartoli endured a tense second set where she led by 5-1 at one point before allowing Lisicki to craw her way back to 5-4 before she finished off the game with her serve.

Bartoli had lost to Venus Williams in the 2007 Wimbledon final.

Congrats Marion Bartoli, consistency and hard work pays. Always been knowing at the door, now you have it. Your first grand slam title.
