Rapper 50 Cent is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly attacking his girlfriend. It is claimed the In Da Club rapper kicked down a door and attacked the unnamed woman home, in California, during a bust-up on June 23. Actually her name is Daphne Joy. (Research)

He has been accused of causing over £4,500 of damage during the fight.

Fiddy – real name Curtis Jackson — reportedly left the scene before the police arrived but was later charged with one count of misdemeanour domestic violence and four counts of vandalism.

If convicted, he faces up to five years in jail and £30,000 in fines.

Police say they found the property ransacked with many broken items, including chandeliers, furniture and a television.

The woman said she had been in a three-year relationship with the star.

LA attorney Mike Feuer said: “Regardless of perceived celebrity or notoriety, domestic violence is a serious crime and alleged perpetrators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law by this office.”

US website TMZ claim the victim is the mother of the rapper's second child.
