If
you ever needed further proof why you should never leave a game
before the end, here it is.
In
the closing minutes of regulation of Game 6 of the NBA Finals, a significant portion of the Miami home crowd streamed out
of the American Airlines Arena early when it looked like the Heat
were gone.
The
Heat rallied to somehow steal a dramatic 103-100 overtime comeback
win over San Antonio, in one of the best NBA Finals matches of all
time.
The
funniest part?
They
were not allowed back into the arena once they realised the Heat had
sent the game into overtime.
One
fan who left the arena earlier summed up the mood:
"Why
did I leave?!" he shouted.
Heat
star Chris Bosh was unsympathetic to their plight.
“For
all those guys (fans) who left, make sure they don’t come to Game
7,” he said.
“We
only want the guys who want to stay. … You never give up. People
gave up on us. They can stay where they are and watch the game at
home.”
The
fans who attempted to get back into the stadium were denied access by
security officials, who enforced the arena’s no reentry policy.
“You
can’t get let back in after you leave,” Bosh said.
“I
know that. Hell, I’ve been to games. You can’t leave a game and
then come back.
"It
doesn’t make any sense. You left. It’s not punishment, that’s
protocol.”
No dream is ever late as long as you are alive.
