Lukaku has joined Everton on a seaon-long loan move, Chelsea has confirmed.
The Belgium
international will bolster Roberto Martinez’s attacking options.
It was
earlier thought that he will be returning back to West Brom, where he flourished
while on loan last year but a late bid by Everton who offered a better loan
deal to Chelsea changed all that.
With Jose
Mourinho signing Samuel Eto'o from Anzhi Makhachkala to provide competition for
Fernando Torres and Ba, options would have been limited for Lukaku at Stamford
Bridge this season.
Lukaku
himself confirmed the deal earlier on his official Twitter account stating:
"Signed @Everton on a season loan", with Everton also announcing the
loan of the 'powerful striker' on their website.
Am not so happy about the move, but i think it's a great move. It afford him the opportunity to play regularly. It's still a loan move and not a sell.
