When
I first heard this story I thought it was a joke. Mysterious bees and snakes
fighting the dreaded Boko Haram sect members in Sambisa forest? Are you
serious, common give me a break.
But
then I thought to myself, this is Naija where anything can happen. So this is
the story.
Some
members of Boko Haram who were arrested are claiming that Mysterious Snakes and
Bees were attacking them and causing them to flee Sambisa Forest and they
viewed it as a spiritual attack. They also claimed these animals have killed
many of their leaders.
Those
captured by the Civilian JTF vigilante group, reportedly gave different
accounts of being hunted by animals.

One
of the insurgents named Kolo
Mustapha reportedly said:
“Most
of us are fleeing because there are too many snakes and bees now in the forest.
Once they bite, they disappear and the victims do not last for 24 hours.
We
were told that the aggrieved people who had suffered from our deadly mission,
including the ghosts of some of those we killed, are the ones turning into the
snake and bees.
They
(leaders) believe the Chibok people are using juju to pursue us because of
their children said
to have been taken by our leaders.”
Mustapha was allegedly to have
also have that some of them have realized their mistakes and repented,
promising the Civilian vigilante group that if they are spaced, they would help
the community capture their fellow insurgents.
