This afternoon, June 23, 2014, Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman sentenced to death for abandoning her Islamic faith and having to give birth in Prison was set free from jail.

Her lawyer told BBC that Ibrahim’s death penalty has been overturned by an appeal court.
He husband is said to have told reporters that he is looking forward to seeing his wife soon and that he wants his family to leave Sudan as soon as possible.

“We are very very happy about this – and we’re going to her now, they have released her… She’s on her way home. It’s a victory for freedom of religion in Sudan…By Mariam’s strong position, we believe that in the future no one will be subjected to such a trial,” said her lawyer.

Am so happy for her and her family. Prayer really works.
