World Cup 2014: Nigeria Vs Bosnia-Herzegovina - England KNOCK OUT

The Nigerian Super Eagles will play Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday in Group F in the on-going FIFA World Cup in Brazil. This would be our second match of the competition after playing a goalless draw with Iran, a match everyone had expected the Super Eagles to win comfortably.

Saturday‘s match now becomes a must-win for the Eagles if they are to have any chance of moving on to the next round of the World Cup. If Nigeria loses to Bosnia, we are as good as out of the World Cup.

This world cup has presented so many shocks and surprise. First it was the reigning European and World Champions Spain losing both of their opening matches and becoming the first team to be knocked out of the world cup, and in fact setting a record as the first defending Champions ever to be knocked out of a world cup before playing their final first round match.

And then the victory of Costa Rica over favorite Uruguay, England losing to Chile and today, Costa Rica beating Italy which effectively means, England is out of the world cup.

The Super Eagles should therefore attack this match with the seriousness it deserves. We might just be lucky that when we eventually get to the next round, most of the traditional big names would have been knocked out already, leaving us with regular teams to beat.

I believe this year’s world cup serves the best opportunity for us to advance to the semifinals, miss this and we may not have it again for a very long time to come.

Coach Stephen Keshi must choose the right players and they in turn must perform. Wishing them victory.

The match will kick off by 5pm at Arena Pantanal, Cuiabá
